Summer Rain

An afternoon thunderstorm comes on fast . . .

     blows through the trees,

and hoses us with a flood of water.

It's over quickly, but leaves its mark.

      Oops, here it comes again!

Could I have a little of that rain, please? I miss it. I mean it, Tom. It's scary dry here in the Pacific Northwest. The entire state is in severe drought, and a third of it now labeled extreme drought. :-(

I'm not crazy about rainy winters, but we could use some of this in Seattle.

We could use some of that rain here in Portland. It's so much drier than usual this year.

Beautiful pictures of the storm in action! We have been getting a lot of monsoonal storms here in Arizona and it's quite a sight to behold -- spectacular lightening! And fierce winds: we just lost a giant tree in our backyard after losing one in the front yard last summer. These summer storms truly show the power of nature.

We could use a good drenching here, too.
