This is what the little cove in back of our house looked like in the morning when the tide was low . . .
Then at mid-day, with the tide coming in . . .
Now it is late afternoon, and the tide is high.
Isn't life exciting! But the day is not over, not until the sun goes down . . .

The best things in life are free. Breathing and watching the tide. Unfortunately, wealthy people have bought most of the land along the East coat, and the peasants cannot gain admittance. On the other hand, CA has an open coast!
It's lovely to be idle with such a calming view.
It is cool in Washington state's beaches and estuaries and cove's unfortunately it is a small window to walk and enjoy anykind of weather tourists jam up the long beach peninsula and most state parks are fees only and people complain about that..We love it since it has reached 90's and near 100's over 20 days a record amount of time, night time sleeping is hard when you live in a 36 year old home and never got any a/c or an upgrade to a decent heating system, the builder did the heat in the ciling WTF??? We are oky doky we go to the coast in a teeny tiny cabin with childhood friends who bring huge motor homes to live in and enjoy the coolness all year thru, sometimes like this summer it gets lovely..We get clams, fish, crab and lovely oysters and have a blast..We go to wine country in the fall and enjoy the wines and lovely people who live in those towns, foods galore reasonable. We are grateful and happy, but we both love the beach..enjoy your wonderful vacation..Oh, California where I was born had the hottest year ever, they have a 150 year drought and no water and fires up the wazhoo, I would never live there again, the state is going to you know what in a handbasket, nope cool 200 days of the year with inclement weather here in Washington is just great for us!
We don't live at the beach but a nice town at the very border of Washington and Oregon, we enjoy the greenness reasonable costs, food, taxes are fine, school excellent, but the hunger is bad and unemployment is horrible..Was a nice place to live in 1978 and buy a tiny home, but not anymore the homes are expensive and you have to drive a lot for a job and most must commute to Portland to get that money, but one has to pay over 8% of one's income for state income tax in Oregon, Washington doesn't have a state income tax we have retail sales tax and it is pushing upwards to 9 percent and in the seattle are in some municiplaties it is nearly 10 or 11 percent, one has to pay in Seattle for the transportation system, Seahwawk Stadium, Mariners Stadium, Sounders playing and all the good paying jobs up there...I think one must enjoy where one ends up in life, you just can't have a heaven on this earth, it is always something in life..Just be grateful and happy and your Karma will make it possible to really live and not merely exist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Better than any therapy!
This looks like a fine place to relax and let the problems of the world drift away.
I love the tides here in Washington state. I know they are everywhere, like on the east coast too, but I never lived there and, until recently, inland. I never knew they could be so interesting. Thanks for these pictures and I'm glad you're having a nice vacation. :-)
Great pictures, Tom, and one of the reasons I lived on or near the ocean for so many years of my life.
