If you want to know more about how habits form, and how to break the cycle of a bad habit, check out The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. B suggested I read it over Christmas break (what was she trying to tell me?!?) and while it's no cure-all, it did open my eyes to some of the things we do unconsciously, without thinking, without paying attention.
But speaking of resolutions, a friend of mine posted the following on her facebook page, which she got from Avivagen Animal Health, a Canadian pet company, which in turn got it from rockpapercynic. Just had to share.

How can you not love new years resolutions from the dog's point of view! Makes me wonder what my own dog's new year's resolutions would be! Instead of resolutions, I decided on a to do list this year. Hopefully I will have more success with that!
Number 11 isn't a problem so I'm gonna scratch it from my list.
I love this. Read my blog today. Its along the same vein I think. Also, in response to your comment yesterday...you are building muscle when you exercise and muscle is heavier than fat. Don't give up. Check out the Weight Watchers program. That's what i am doing. Dianne
We've been practicing No. 1 a little too much lately. I need to get back to something more like Dianne's plan.
You’re right, these are the only resolutions worth taking to heart.
Happy New Year, Tom.
We certainly can learn a lot from man's best friend (and his philosophy).
Gosh, may I visit again? Your humour is just what I need at the moment!!
Greetings from Oz
