Later, I walked down to the beach. It's a little chilly, granted, but I checked the weather site and saw that at home today it is 5 degrees, and with northwest winds at 16 mph and gusts up to 30 mph, it "feels like -13 degrees," according to the weather channel.

ReplyDeleteI visit my sister once a winter in Florida. It's wonderful when it's warm, which it isn't right now! She's complaining bitterly down in Tampa. Are you there for the winter?
ReplyDeleteWell normally I'd say yes, but it's in the lower 20's here in Savannah with a wind chill around 10º.
ReplyDeleteIt's only going to get to the 60s today in Tucson, and there's a hazardous weather condition warning for "widespread sprinkles" - really!
ReplyDeleteYou got here just in time for the cold weather. It is 50 degrees here in Venice today, after three weeks of temps in the low 80's. Pulled out a fleece jacket and jeans. Such temps in Vermont would be cause for shorts and flip flops!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to dream about waking up to sunshine. Our boy is off to Puerto Vallarta today. Maybe he can mail me some sunshine.

If you stay there long enough, you, along with all the other Floridians, can begin to scoff at "wind chill" . . . while those of us up here will be doing what we can to keep our skin from peeling off from dehydration when it "feels like -13."

ReplyDeleteIt's not quite that cold in Oregon, but I am ready to head south. I hope to drag the spouse away from duck and goose hunting for a few weeks in warmer climates. I don't understand his love a hobby that requires you to hide outside in the cold for hours waiting for birds to fly over.
ReplyDeleteOlga, I apologize. I think I brought the cold air with me -- same thing happened last year. But Rosaria, you're still right; 50 degrees is a lot better than 15 degrees! And Kathy, I keep trying to think up a smart-ass answer for you, but I got nuthin' ... nuthin' but envy!
ReplyDeleteCool weather lasted one day as usual. I'm in the Keys and I'm enjoying my morning coffee watching the sunrise on my boat. Time for my bike ride now. It's a glorious day.
ReplyDeleteUnless you're in Florida for the long haul, and not just one or two weeks, it's really immaterial where you are. Eventually you'll be back in the sub zero temps and your Florida vacation will be nothing more than a memory.
