It's enough breakfast for me to get me to lunch time. I can't stand the taste of coffee. Even coffee flavored desserts and candy bring on my gag reflex.

My grandmother loved strong coffee. It's our frugal version of the more expensive half-caff available on store shelves.

Hubby wakes up before me, makes an 8 cup pot of our coffee and when I wake up, much later, voila': there it is, ready for me. We get both leaded and un-leaded; theirs is one of the few brands that make unleaded taste as good as the real thing. We have big, deep "special" his and hers cups. In depressing times, a cup of Peet's can be my whole reason to get up, too. Whoever wakes up first is responsible for making it. So they added a little Nestle's Quick to my bottle and I sucked it down.

This became an addiction for me. All during my childhood, my dad would make me a cup of hot chocolate each morning when I got up and every night before bed. I sucked it down with a straw.

To this day, I still must have this beverage every morning, although now that I'm grown-up I prefer it made with soy milk and sugar free Nestle's.
